Cabane d'Alpage (cirque de Morgon)

The place

Two stone buildings at 1896 m in the Cirque de Morgon (Ubaye, Hautes-Alpes). Not refuges and should only be used in case of emergency. The first, about 40 m to the east, has a homemade lock and can hold about 4 people during a storm; its broken window lets in snow in winter. The second is closed but has a lean-to on the northwest side where it's possible to spend the night sheltered. The real inhabited cabin of the Cirque de Morgon is private and used by the pasture's shepherd from June to October. Source de Pisson nearby (1911 m).
