The place

A high-mountain hut of the Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) on the eastern edge of the Wapta Icefield, in Banff National Park (Alberta), at 2,350 m. 30 bunks, propane lighting and cooktop, wood stove. The largest, best-equipped and most accessible of the four Wapta huts, it serves as a base for many ski tours and ascents of half a dozen peaks in the massif (St Nicholas, Olive, Onslow, etc.).
