The place
A mountain hut in the Aravis range, in Haute-Savoie, on the route of the regional GR trail Massif de Tournette-Aravis, at the foot of the Tardevant and facing the Mont Lachat de Châtillon. Although located in the municipality of Le Grand-Bornand, it is more easily reached from La Clusaz. The hut offers 27 sleeping places and a catering service every day from mid-June to mid-September, then on weekends until mid-October (closed outside the staffed period). Access via a track passable by 4x4 from the Col des Confins (about a further 1h walk), or via a trail from the hamlet of Les Mollards through the Bouchet valley (550 m of elevation gain). A starting point for the Mont Charvet, the Ambrevetta, the Tardevant, the Roche Perfia, and several climbing sites (Aiguilles Noires, Rochers de la Salla, Paré de Joux).
Getting there
Départ du Lac des Confins (parking) ou du lieu-dit « Les Plans ». Environ 1h de marche depuis le parking des Confins. Sentier accessible aussi à cheval, avec un âne de bât, en VTT, ou en joëlette. Carte IGN TOP 25 3430 ET (La Clusaz - Grand Bornand).
The setting
Le refuge offre un panorama sur la chaîne des Aravis et la vallée du Bouchet, et se situe sur le tracé du GR96.
