Bivouac Ugo Blanchetti
The place
Small, recently built bivouac in the Cerces-Thabor massif, at 2,481 m altitude at the Pas de l'Ours (on the Franco-Italian border, Hautes-Alpes). Well insulated, comfortable and cosy, in very good condition: 6 clean sleeping places (2 double, 2 single) with pillows and blankets for each, table and 3 small benches, shelf with candles, utensils and leftover food, broom and shovel. No water nearby in winter — snow is the only option. Very windy spot. Caution regarding the door lock from outside: the inside latch is held by a piece of string preventing the door from closing on its own; some have already found the door locked from the inside.
The setting
Petit bivouac récent, confortable et chaleureux, bien étanche et bien aménagé, situé au Pas de l'Ours (2481 m), dans le massif des Cerces (Hautes-Alpes). Secteur peu fréquenté. Un point d'eau existe dans le ravin au nord, mais seulement en été.
