The place
Italian bivouac shelter at 3060 m on the Italian Mont Blanc side, in the Val Vény (Courmayeur, Aosta Valley), halfway up the large rocky spur dividing the Brenva glacier in two. Galvanised steel half-cylinder anchored to the rock, 1.25 m high, 2.25 m wide, 2 m long, 4 places. Installed in 1929, renovated in 2016. Always open, unstaffed. Access on foot in 6h30 from Entrèves.
