Bivacco Antigine
The place
Bivouac at 2855 m at the foot of the Col d'Antigine, in the upper Val Troncone (Val d'Antrona, Piedmont, Italy, Pennine Alps). Built in 1984 and inaugurated on 5 August that same year, managed by the Villadossola CAI section. Barcellan-type sheet-metal structure, capacity 12 people, bunk beds, blankets, lockers, folding tables, stools and tools (shovels). Water in a nearby pond. To the south rises the Pizzo di Antigine, to the north the ridge culminates with the Pizzo San Martino, the Stellihorn and the Pizzi di Cingino. Access from Campliccioli (about 4 hours) or from Cingino (about 2 h 30). A stage of the Alta Via delle Alpi Ossolane and the Grande Traversata delle Alpi (GTA) linking the Maritime Alps and Trieste.
