Bergerie ruinée de Liccioghia
The place
No permanent water source nearby (the original spring at the sheepfold is mostly destroyed). The tin roof of the one remaining shelter has a few leaks. From the Galghello sheepfold, descend on a good forest trail (as far as a cross), then more steeply through a maquis-covered rocky chaos where cairns are scarce. From the top of the village of Corscia, a track leads to a memorial stele, from which a good footpath heads NNW down to the valley of the Ruda river (crossable by a bridge). From there a path climbs east through the forest. It becomes increasingly overgrown with maquis as it climbs north through rocky scree; follow scattered cairns marking the general direction. At a flat area (IGN elevation point 1139) the trail becomes clear again up to the ruined sheepfolds (livestock enclosures, ruined cheese cellars, and an unlocked shepherd's hut). Ruin located in the municipality of Corscia (2B), private property.
