The place

Ruined sheepfold restored in 2009. Presented as a heritage feature (see photo of the plaque on the facade). - Standing log floor. - Watertight roof. - Open at the entrance. - Completely empty (see photos). - Big enough to shelter from rain/wind for 40 people, or to sleep 20 comfortably. Best reserved as a temporary emergency shelter given the specific nature of the site and its proximity to the resort. Spring photos (in daylight): http://www.oduch.fr/Paysage/Bergerie-Gautier. Nearby (20 m), a second building, an annex of the sheepfold. Built to the same design but less well restored (uneven packed-earth floor), much smaller, and partly cluttered. From the Les Orres resort, via a forest road closed to motor traffic.
