Baraque du Col Vert
The place
A small unstaffed shack, simple and not very comfortable, with no water point. Fitted with a small stove for a modest fire, a small bench seat and a small bench. About 1 h 30 from the car park at the end of the forest road from Prélenfrey: a wide, nearly driveable track at first, then a well-maintained trail after 20 minutes — several junctions, keep right. Also accessible from Villard-de-Lans via the Col Vert (ONF).
Getting there
Comptez environ 1h30 depuis le parking situé au bout de la route forestière venant de Prélenfrey : un large chemin presque carrossable précède, après 20 minutes de marche, un petit sentier bien entretenu.
The setting
Perché à 1583 m dans le massif du Vercors (Isère), l'abri offre des vues sur Grenoble, la Chartreuse, le Mont Blanc et Belledonne, avec une forêt à moins de 100 m. Rudimentaire et exigu, il comprend un petit poêle et une banquette en bois, mais ni matelas, ni couvertures, ni latrines, ni eau.
