The place
Alpine Club of Canada refuge (R.J. Ritchie Hut, also known as Balfour Hut) on low rocky hills at the foot of the Vulture Glacier, in Banff National Park (Alberta, Canada), at 2,470 m elevation (8,100 ft). Between the southern tip of the Wapta Icefield and the northern tip of the Waputik Icefield. **Middle stage of the Wapta Traverse**, typically used together with the other ACC huts on the route during a glacial ski traverse. Capacity: 18 people in summer, 16 in winter. Maintained by the ACC.
