Ancienne casemate frontalière (Ricovero Désertes)

The place

Sleeping places planned: 4 Places on mattress: 4 Hut dating from the Second World War. Very damp and cold, but south-east facing. The mattresses are foam pads used to protect chairlift pylons. At least they won't go moldy. The blankets have been chewed up by mice. Not very welcoming but does the job in a pinch. A large table with benches. A stove but no firewood nearby. Interior equipment: - 1 large table - 5 benches - 1 stove (small firewood reserve inside, in a crate) - Old blankets in very poor condition (don't count on them). Refuge attached to a rocky outcrop, downhill, on the east side — Italian, therefore — of the Col des Désertes.
