The place

A former 16th-17th-century farmhouse known as Le Trou du Gari, turned into a forest lodge in the late 19th century after being bought by the State, left abandoned for a long time, and restored in the 1990s, at 354 m in the Luberon (Vaucluse). Refuge available to rent for the weekend for €50, with room for around 8 people but only basic comfort: wooden planks with no beds, no running water or electricity. Indoor fireplace, outdoor bread oven, plus additional covered shelters. Booking via Elvin Miller (ONF): elvin.miller@onf.fr or 04 90 72 30 78; key to be picked up at the Font de l'Orme forest lodge.
