Abri du Moucherotte
The place
Shelter at 1836 m just below the summit of the Moucherotte (Vercors), at the junction of the GR trail and the old ski run on the west side. Simple shelter with possible sleeping on the wooden floor but no heating; fires prohibited inside and outside. Closed since August 6, 2021. Camping possible on flat ground right nearby; outdoor picnic table. Source du Moucherotte about 1 km below on the GR, decent flow. Incredible views at sunrise and sunset.
Getting there
Situé juste sous le sommet du Moucherotte, à l'intersection du GR et de l'ancienne piste de ski, versant ouest. Accès possible depuis Saint-Nizier-du-Moucherotte via le GR91.
The setting
Abri simple du massif du Vercors : couchage possible sur bat-flanc mais sans chauffage, tables de pique-nique, plancher isolant. Pas de cheminée ni poêle, feu interdit dedans comme dehors. Point d'eau à 333 m via le sentier GR.
