The place
Old alpine pasture building at 2040 m below the Col de Balme on the Swiss side, on the Tour du Mont-Blanc (TMB). The Herbagères alpine pasture is being renovated: one of the buildings has been left open to serve as a shelter if needed. Beaten-earth floor, empty inside. Spring below Les Herbagères at 1915 m nearby.
