Abri des Fours

The place

Former disused building of unknown origin at 2695 m, near the Tête Nord des Fours, a few meters behind rocks on the left where the path turns right onto the ridge (Beaufortain, Haute-Savoie). No facilities, no door, dry rocky ground all around. Can reasonably only serve as a temporary shelter in bad weather for hikers in difficulty on the Tour du Mont-Blanc variant via the Col des Fours. Within the Contamines-Montjoie Nature Reserve.
