Abri de Beauregard

The place

Very small shelter (a "micro-refuge") attached to a large chalet, at 1,550 m on the Plateau de Beauregard (Bornes-Aravis, Haute-Savoie). Tiny space (about 4 x 2 m) with no window — the only opening is the entrance door. Spartan and basic: no insulation, gaps between the boards, nothing set up for sleeping. To reach it from the mountain restaurant "Les Matins Clairs", head north-northeast for about 300 m (50 m elevation loss).
