Abrahams Bay Hunters Hut

The place

Hunting hut managed by the Rakiura Hunter Camps Trust, built in 2001 by volunteer deerstalkers from Taranaki, located on Stewart Island/Rakiura (Southland), in Rakiura National Park. Six bunks with mattresses, multi-fuel stove (bring your own wood), indoor and outdoor bench, food safe, toilet, 1000 L rainwater tank, basic tools (axe/saw, broom, shovel). No cooking facilities or utensils. NZD 30 per person for the duration of the stay, up to ten days maximum. Booking required through the Rakiura National Park Visitor Centre.
