Le lieu

A 156km trail devised by guidebook author Alex Kendall (Cicerone) linking Machynlleth to Conwy along the lower valleys and passes of Snowdonia, staying mostly below the high mountain ridges while still crossing genuine upland terrain. It runs through Dolgellau, Trawsfynydd, Beddgelert and Dolwyddelan, with a much tougher final stage over the hills above Bethesda into the Conwy valley. A separate, harder mountain-route variant of the same guidebook takes in Cadair Idris, Snowdon and the Glyders directly, but the low-level line described here is the one usually walked end to end.
