Serpent Trail

Le lieu

A winding, purple-waymarked route across the Sussex Weald within the South Downs National Park, running from Haslemere to Petersfield via a serpentine line that links the region's lowland heaths — Black Down, Marley Common, Woolbeding and Iping Commons among them. Unlike the chalk ridge of the South Downs Way, the terrain is sandy heathland, birch and pine woodland and small commons, with modest but frequent climbs rather than one sustained ridge. It is an official South Downs National Park Authority trail, split into 11 short waymarked sections.
