Un peu d'histoire

The E6 connects the Baltic (Gdańsk) to the Adriatic (Split) through Central Europe. The Slovenian section connects the Alpine and Mediterranean worlds at the crossroads of Germanic, Latin and Slavic cultures.

Y arriver

Maribor: train from Ljubljana (2h) or Graz/Vienna. Nova Gorica: train from Ljubljana (2h30) or Italian border crossing on foot.

Matériel recommandé

Hiking boots. Warm layers for Pohorje. Water on the Karst plateau (no surface water — carry reserves).

La saison

April to October. Spring and autumn ideal. Bora wind on the Karst can be violent.
