Le lieu

A gentle 127.5km river-valley walk from Ilkley in Wharfedale to Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lake District, following the River Wharfe upstream through Burnsall, Grassington and Buckden before crossing the watershed near Cam Houses into Dentdale and Sedbergh, then finishing along the Lakeland fringe via Staveley. Unlike most Yorkshire Dales routes it stays mostly in the valley bottoms, making it one of the easier long-distance paths in northern England, popular as a first multi-day trek.
