Il luogo

An unofficial, largely unmarked long-distance route across the Isle of Skye from the remote Rubha Hunish headland in the north to Broadford in the south. It crosses the Trotternish Ridge above the Old Man of Storr on rugged, sometimes pathless terrain requiring genuine scrambling and hill-navigation skill, then follows coastal and glen paths past Portree, Sligachan and the foot of the Cuillin to Elgol and Torrin. Weather exposure, route-finding difficulty and the lack of waymarking make it a serious undertaking recommended only for experienced hillwalkers.
