The GR221 Ruta de Pedra en Sec follows the dry-stone terracing, cobbled mule tracks and shepherd trails of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape, linking coastal cliffs above Port d'Andratx to the karst mountain passes around Lluc and Pollença. The official core route uses five public mountain refugis (Can Boi, Muleta, Tossals Verds, Son Amer) plus a seasonal shelter near Coll de sa Gramola. Overall difficulty is moderate to hard: the path is well marked, but several stages involve long, steep, rocky stretches, and heat and water scarcity are real hazards in the Mediterranean summer.
