The Ortler High Mountain Trail is a high-alpine circular route around the Ortler-Cevedale massif, South Tyrol's highest peak, running through Stelvio National Park from the Vinschgau valley into Lombardy's Valtellina and back. The route links staffed rifugi and Hütten over a series of passes, including one glaciated crossing between the Zufallhütte and the Casati hut that calls for crampons and roped travel. Terrain sits mostly above 2,500m with sweeping views over the Ortler's glaciers, making this one of the more demanding high routes in the eastern Alps.
