Offas Dyke Path

El lugar

A 285km National Trail tracing the line of the 8th-century earthwork built by King Offa of Mercia along the England-Wales border, from Sedbury Cliffs near Chepstow to Prestatyn on the North Wales coast. It alternates between the wooded Wye valley, the open Black Mountains near Hay-on-Wye, gentle Marches farmland around Kington and Knighton (the trail's official halfway point), and a final hilly stretch through the Clwydian Range before descending to the sea. Repeated climbs up and over the ancient dyke banks give it a much higher cumulative ascent than its modest hill heights would suggest.
