The place

Hut at the summit of the Großer Arber ("King of the Bavarian Forest"), at 1,443 m. Capacity for 30 to 35 people, self-managed. Rental reserved for groups (no individuals). Cold drinks at reasonable prices, catering by arrangement with the hut warden when vehicle access is possible. Set within the Großer Arber ski area (World Cup skiing venue), hiking and skiing. On clear days, views of the Dachstein, Watzmann and Loferer mountains. BikeArber park nearby, opened in 2025.
