Standard-category DOC hut with four bunks located at 942 m in the Hihitahi Forest Sanctuary south of Waiouru, in the central North Island. Amenities: water tank, wood stove for heating. Fee NZD 10 per adult per night, NZD 5 for ages 5-17, free below that, payable via standard tickets left on-site or an annual Backcountry Hut Pass. No booking required.
