West Sabine Hut

The place

DOC serviced hut with 30 bunks at 680 m in Nelson Lakes National Park (Nelson/Tasman, NZ). Access from Blue Lake Hut (3 h 30) or Sabine Hut (5 h). Online booking required, open until June 2027; no spaces held for walk-ins without a booking, same-day bookings possible up to 8 pm subject to availability. Rates: adults $25/night, youth 5-17 $12.50, under 4 free. Camping ($10/$5/$0) with access to the hut's water and toilets. Lindavia algae present: dry equipment for 48 hours before any contact with alpine water. Backcountry Pass valid May-September only for overnight stays.
