Weisslannenhöhe Schutzhütte
The place
Unstaffed Schutzhütte at 1170 m on the Weisslannenhöhe, in the Black Forest (Baden-Württemberg). Located in the hinterland of Donaueschingen, near the source of the Danube (official point at 678 m in the Fürstenberg castle park) — the Brigach river rises a few kilometers to the north and the Breg to the southwest. The area lies at the transition between the southeastern Black Forest (Süd-Schwarzwald) and the Baar plateau, one of the highest in southwestern Germany. The hut is documented on refuges.info as a typical unstaffed shelter on long-distance trails — the Querweg Freiburg-Bodensee runs nearby. Mixed forest setting of pine-fir stands and montane beech forests, with a rich network of transverse hiking trails through the eastern Black Forest. Bring fuel and equipment.
