Weissbriacher Hütte
The place
The Weißbriacher Hütte is a category 1 self-catering hut of the Austrian Alpine Club, Hermagor section, located at 1567 m altitude on the Napalnalm in the Gitschtal (Gailtaler Alpen, Carinthia). In 1970, the existing alpine pasture hut in the Weißbriach district was leased by the Hermagor section. The original construction date is unknown; the hut burned down entirely in 1982, then was rebuilt as a log cabin in 1984. Ground floor: common room and woodshed. Upper floor: 10-bed dormitory. No running water. Access from Weißbriach in 2 h, or from Kirchbach in almost 4 h.
