The place

Weinbergerhaus: A Haven of Peace in the Mountains of the Kaisergebirge The Weinbergerhaus is a private hut located at 1272 metres altitude in the Kaisergebirge massif, atop the Stadtberg above Kufstein, in the lower Inn valley in Tyrol. Location The Weinbergerhaus is located at the Brentenjoch in the Kaisergebirge nature reserve. Formerly called the Brentenjoch-Hütte due to its location, the view to the west looks down onto the Inn valley with Kufstein and Kiefersfelden, and on clear days Rosenheim can be glimpsed to the north. East of the Weinbergerhaus lies the Gamskogel (1449 m) and a rolling meadow with dairy cows in summer. To the south, the steep cliffs of the Wilder Kaiser put on an impressive display of light (especially at sunrise and sunset). Access By taking the Kaiserlift to the mountain station at the Brentenjoch (only from 1 May to 31 October), followed by a ten-minute walk. From Kufstein-Sparchen (501 m) via the Duxeralm and the Adlerweg in 1h30. From the Josef Madersperger memorial (Kienbach) via the Elfenhain forest (steep path) to the Duxeralm, then via the Schneerosenweg and the panoramic trail in 2h30. From the centre of Kufstein and Mitterndorf via the Berghaus Aschenbrenner and the panoramic trail in 2h30. Summer Activities The Weinbergerhaus is accessible by mountain bike from Kufstein-Mitterndorf via two routes passing through the Berghaus Aschenbrenner or the Duxeralm. The ride can be extended via the Kaindlhütte. The same paths are used by mountain runners. Paragliding from the Weinbergerhaus is also possible. Winter Activities Sledging is possible from the Brentenjoch down to the Duxeralm. From there, you can reach Mitterndorf via the chapel in the forest, or continue up the ski slope to the Hinterduxer Hof and then back down the sledging run to Sparchen. The Weinbergerhaus has an ungroomed, avalanche-safe ski slope leading down to the Kaiserlift car park, also used for ski touring ascents.
