Standard 6-bunk DOC hut at 227 m in Aorangi Forest Park (Wairarapa, NZ). Built in 1962, rebuilt after damage from a fallen tree. Wood burner. Access from Cape Palliser Road via Aorangi Crossing (4-5 h, 10 km) or via the creek bed (3 h 30, 9 km — prior permission from the forest owner required), or from Pararaki Hut (2 h 30-3 h 30, 4.7 km). Closest accommodation to the Putangirua Pinnacles. Payment by DOC tickets in the honesty box.
