The place
Waldhäusl self-catering cabin of the Bayerischer Wald-Verein, located in the Herzogau area near Waldmünchen, in the Oberpfälzer Wald (Upper Palatinate Forest, north-eastern Bavaria). A starting point for many hikes in the forested border range between Bavaria and the Czech Republic (Český les). Self-catering facilities with an equipped kitchen (coffee machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, hot plate) and cold drinks for self-service (beer, juice, water). The Bayerischer Wald-Verein, a member of the Wanderverband Bayern, manages a network of Wanderheime along the long forested ridge of the Bayerischer Wald and the Oberpfälzer Wald, one of the largest continuous forest areas in central Europe.
