The place
Hegnau forest hut located in Kindhausen (8604, municipality of Volketswil, canton of Zurich), toward Wangen, renovated in 2011 and managed by the Holzkorporation Hegnau. The building is popular for private parties and receptions, accommodating up to 40 people. Facilities: Swedish stove for winter heating, TOITOI portable toilets, electricity. Rental fee CHF 275 per day with a CHF 100 deposit including firewood. Set in the Glattal forest between Zurich and Greifensee, on the walking trails around Volketswil, a familiar getaway spot for people from Zurich. Public transport access via the S9 line from Stettbach to Schwerzenbach, then local bus.
