The place
Viveros La Cuya S. A (La Cuya Nursery S.A.) in the Sacatepéquez department, Antigua Guatemala/Ciudad Vieja area (central highlands, Guatemala), at 1737 m altitude, in the valley between the Agua volcano (3760 m) and Fuego volcano (3763 m, active, 2018 eruption killed 200). New Guatemala cluster that first appeared in batch 332. Commercial nursery ("cuya" = yam/taro in Kaqchikel), in an area of highland cloud forests near Antigua Guatemala (former capital 1543-1773, UNESCO 1979, ruins of the Convento Santa Clara/Capuchinas from the 1773 Santa Marta earthquake, magnitude 7.5), heritage of the Kaqchikel (Maya people, 400,000 in central Guatemala).
