The place

"Västra Vitnjulstugan" cabin in mountain birch forest on the bank of the Vindelälven river (Vindelfjällen, Västerbotten, Sweden), 1-2 days' walk upstream from Ammarnäs. Capacity 6 beds (4 in the main room + 2 in the small locked room), emergency phone. Cabin is unlocked — no need to reserve a key. Rate SEK 200 per person per night, children 0-15 free. Managed by Länsstyrelsen Västerbotten in partnership with Destination Ammarnäs. **TEMPORARILY CLOSED since 6 March 2025 — broken chimney. Visitors are redirected to Östra Vitnjulstugan.**
