The place
Staffed hut at 2205 m at Emosson, in the Trient Valley (Valais, Switzerland). Perched on a rocky outcrop with a panoramic alpine view. Indoor room seating 50 and a large panoramic terrace. Region rich in geological history and prehistory. Accommodation and catering available. Accessible via the VerticAlp Emosson cable car then mountain trails. Run by the Vouilloz family for over 30 years.
Getting there
Deux itinéraires balisés depuis le barrage d'Émosson : le sentier des Gorges de la Veudale (environ 1h45 de marche) ou le chemin large goudronné longeant le lac d'Émosson (environ 1h30, praticable à vélo). L'accès en véhicule motorisé jusqu'à la cabane n'est pas autorisé ; on rejoint le barrage d'Émosson via le funiculaire/télécabine VerticAlp Émosson ou en bus.
The setting
La cabane est perchée sur un rocher à environ 2200-2205 m d'altitude, au cœur d'un paysage alpin grandiose que le site officiel décrit comme « rempli d'histoire et de préhistoire », avec une vue panoramique sur les sommets environnants depuis sa grande terrasse.
