The place
A genuine old bus at about 1279 m at the Col du Vieux Bus, in the Diois-Baronnies (Drôme). Marked by hiking trail signs. The bus no longer has any window glass but the roof is watertight and the floor flat (seats removed), so it can be used to sleep sheltered from the rain. Present for at least 40 years, it has become so iconic that it gave its name to the pass. Note: the land is private.
