The place
DNT self-service cabin at 946 m in Gausdal Vestfjell (Innlandet, Norway), about 7 km from the nearest road access. Opened in autumn 2015. Capacity of 18: two 4-bed rooms on the ground floor (bookable in advance), an 8-bed loft (first-come, first-served), plus a dedicated 2-place dog room with kennels. Provisions on site (to be declared via the DNT app). Solar panels with 12V charging, a water pump installed in 2018, wood stove. Located on the Jotunheimstien trail. Summer access: Vetafjellet parking on the Revsjøvegen toll road, about 1h30 walk. Winter: marked ski route from Synstgardsetra (~7-8 km). Ice fishing possible at the nearby lakes Slivatnet and Omundtjernet.
