The place
The most remote self-service cabin on land owned by Stavanger Turistforening, sitting at 1,120 m on the high plateaus between Setesdal and Suldal. Reaching it takes several days of walking — from Stranddalen via Krossvatn, or from Storsteinen via Hovatn — making it one of the high points of the STF trail network. Capacity of 30 bunks, no electricity, wood heating, gas for cooking, with equipment and bedding on site. Trout fishing available with an STF card; summer access is preferable. Check-in and payment via the DNT app.
