Refuge de Valerette

The place

Small refuge just below the summit of the Dent de Valerette at 2045 m (Aiguilles rouges, Valais, Switzerland). Very nice, large table, chairs, stove for warmth. Rebuilt in 2015 after being destroyed by a storm in 2012. Belongs to the local ski club, which leaves it open to all, but sleeping there is strictly prohibited: no sleeping arrangements are provided on site, ideal for a meal break or a moment of rest during a hike. Open view over the surrounding mountains, part of the Tour des Dents-du-Midi.
