Valea Viștei

The place

Bivouac shelter located at 1,550 m on the northern slope of the Făgăraș Mountains (Southern Carpathians), at the edge of the forest leading up to the alpine pastures of Valea Viștei Mare. Communal building with about twenty sleeping platforms (10 to 15 according to some sources), well maintained. Free access, unmanned, no booking. Route from the town of Victoria along the marked red triangle trail, which then leads to Moldoveanu (2,544 m), Romania's highest peak. A classic stage on the northern traverse of the Făgăraș range.
