Útulňa SNP Úhorná

The place

Útulňa (mountain shelter) in the Volovské vrchy range, above the village of Úhorná (Slovakia), on the Cesta hrdinov SNP, between Pipitka and Biele skaly (White Rocks). **Built in late May 2021 in four days by six founders and volunteers from the OZ Cesta hrdinov SNP association** (founded 21 October 2020, based in Košice). Special foundations on 6 concrete consoles to withstand the wind. Facilities: lightning rod, solar system for lighting and mobile charging, basic structure with wooden cladding. Aim: to give hikers a place to warm up, rest and regain their strength.
