Basic DOC shelter with two bunks at 819 m in the Takitimu Conservation Area (Southland). Free, open access. No DOC-marked track: independent navigation by map, compass or GPS. River-crossing skills required: do not cross a river in flood, without safe entry and exit points, or if in doubt. Destination reserved for experienced backcountry users.
