The place

Basic DOC hut with 2 bunks in Nelson Lakes National Park, at 1,000 m. Built in 1965, relocated 50 m in 2003 to move it away from an avalanche path. Free. George Lyon Hut 3 h away, East Matakitaki Hut 6 h away. Lindavia biosecurity: gear must be completely dry for 48 h before use in an alpine lake; disinfection stations are available at nearby huts.
