The place

A modest, unstaffed wilderness cabin (autiotupa) for self-sufficient hikers in the Kemihaaran erämaa, Savukoski municipality (Itä-Lappi, eastern Finnish Lapland), off marked trails. Sleeping mezzanine for 6 people; complemented by a separate bookable varaustupa section with 4 places. Facilities: mezzanine, wood stove, gas cooker, yard sauna with a separate sauna fee. Access by ski or on foot. Free, shared accommodation, first-come first-served for 1-2 nights; the varaustupa section is booked via Eräluvat.fi.
