The place
DNT hytte in western Hardangervidda, at Hardingslepa between Øvre Tyssevatn and Holmevatn, at 1319 m altitude (Vestland, Norway). Donated to DNT Oslo og Omegn in 1975 by A/S Tyssefaldene and several companies involved in developing Tysso. Self-service with 12 beds, electricity installed. Water must be fetched from the stream / nearest water point; guests handle their own cooking, cleaning, water and tidying. The easiest access is by car to Odda and Tyssedal, road toward Skjeggedal and then on foot: 21.6 km with nearly 1000 m of elevation gain, demanding. A central location within Hardangervidda National Park — about 4 to 5 hours' walk from Trolltunga. Book in advance via hyttebestilling.dnt.
