Tutu Hut

The place

Basic four-bunk (canvas beds) hut managed by the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Hanmer Forest Park, north Canterbury (South Island, New Zealand). Free access, no booking. Approach via the Tutu Stream: permission from Glenhope Station is required to cross their land to reach the stream. The crossing is unformed: do not attempt it in flood or without safe footing, and check NIWA flow data before setting out.
