The place

"Meteo" tourist shelter in the Lagodekhi protected area (eastern Georgia), on the Black Rock Lake trail, on the Caucasian slope, at about 1,300 m elevation. Capacity 16 people. Site set up for picnics and camping; tents possible; equipment rental. Subalpine low-maple zone, a base for reaching the alpine landscape. Access from the Lagodekhi protected areas administration: about 2 h to reach the shelter on the first day, 11.5 km with 1,350 m of elevation gain.
