Toue de Larribet

The place

Toue (pastoral shelter) at 1800 m in the Pyrenees National Park (Bigorre, near Arrens, Hautes-Pyrénées). Wooden bench for a mattress, small fireplace, and superb view. Slightly off the trail leading to the Refuge de Larribet (to the right, up on the heights). Going up, after the second footbridge, keep climbing along the torrent, slightly on the left bank, and follow the trail without crossing the stream descending from the Lac de Batbielh. Clean with dry wood, but judging by marks on the ceiling, the fireplace may draw poorly; can be damp with water dripping from the ceiling.
